TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday visited the building allegedly belonging to former Kadapa mayor, P. Raveendranatha Reddy in Jubilee Hills here, which was demolished by GHMC following A P High Court’s directions.
Mr. Naidu appreciated Neeraja Rao, for her grit and determination in fighting a legal battle against influential persons and getting back her land.
Ms. Rao had gone to court alleging that over 400 sq yard land in Women’s Cooperative Society in Jubilee Hills was encroached and a building came up there. She approached the Court after Municipal and other authorities failed to act against the encroachment on her land.

Meanwhile, the GHMC on Tuesday continued the demolition works at the site. Taken up following the directions of the A.P. High Court, the exercise which was taken up yesterday afternoon with partial demolition of slabs was carried out today to pull down the beams and columns.
GHMC officials, however, continued to remain tight-lipped about the demolition and even at the year-end press conference on Tuesday, the senior officials refused to divulge much. “We had noticed illegal construction there and issued notice. There were court cases and on receiving directions, we took up the demolition,” said an official.

Special Correspondent from Kadapa adds: Ravindranath Reddy, who is the uncle of YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, denied links with the building demolished by the GHMC. He accused Mr. Naidu of maligning his name to settle political scores with Mr. Jagan.
He asserted that the complainant Neeraja Rao was a TDP supporter. Challenging Mr. Naidu for a CBI inquiry into his assets, the former Mayor said he was prepared to face similar probe.
Denying reports that the land and building belonged to him, Mr. Reddy said he would complain to the Press Council and also initiate civil and criminal action against the media and against Mr. Naidu.
