‘More funds will be granted’

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed the district administration and other officials concerned to expedite the developmental works in the temple city of Tirupati.

Reviewing the smart city works after conclusion of President Ram Nath Kovind’s two-day visit here, Mr. Naidu asserted that the city would be witnessing a wide range of development under the ‘smart city’ programme. He directed the officials to begin the works such as constructing a new underground drainage system (including stormwater drains), directing rainwater from Tirumala Hills via Kapilatheertham to several lakes across the city (with the help from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams), Vaikuntamala project, science museum and others.

Mr. Naidu also said that more funds would be granted through Asian Developmental Bank and said that Tirupati should witness development on lines of those being done in Visakhapatnam.
