Naidu showers ₹3,000-cr worth benefits on BCs

Corporations will be set up for castes that come under the BC category, says CM

Showering benefits worth ₹3,000 crore on the Backward Classes including upgradation of federations to corporations and setting up new corporations for castes that come under the BC category, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday urged the BCs to continue their support by casting their vote to the Telugu TDP in the ensuing elections.

“Don’t fall prey to the YSR Congress Party and the BJP that are trying to deceive the BCs for their political benefits. As an elder member of your family, I am going to support and uplift you. In return hoist the TDP flag on your houses,” he said addressing the ‘Jaiho BC’ public meeting organised by the TDP here.

“The TDP is going to win 150 of the 175 Assembly seats and all the 25 MP seats in the elections scheduled for 75 days from now. The YSRCP is supporting the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, which is an anti-BC party. You are well aware of the BJP that deceived the entire Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

Besides upgrading the 11 BC federations, new corporations would be set up for Agnikula Kshatriya, Toorpu Kapu, Yadava, Kuraba Settibalija (including Gowda and Eediga castes), Koppula Velama, Neta, Kalinga, Gavara and Gandla castes. Special music schools would be opened for the hereditary musicians from the Nayi Brahmin caste and insurance would be extended to the sheep and the premium would be paid by the government, he said.

Garden in Amaravati

“We are working out to address the problems of the Kummari, Swarnakara and other BCs. To protect the self-respect of the BCs, a 10-acre garden will be developed in Amaravati in memory of Mahatma Jyothirao Phule, where a BC Bhavan will also be constructed,” he said.
