Naidu promises NTR’s ‘Ramarajyam’ in AP

YSRC, TRS will merge with Congress soon, says the TDP president

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu sharing the dais with Mines Minister Galla Aruna Kumari at a public meeting at Bangarupalem in Chittoor district on Sunday.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday asserted that the people of the State were going to see the dream of late NTR’s Ramarajyam in ninety days and the people were waiting for the opportunity to trounce the Congress.

The TDP chief was addressing an impressive public gathering at the local market yard in Bangarupalem town, 20 km from here, after unveiling the statue of veteran Congress leader N.P. Changalraya Naidu.

Interestingly, the function organised by the family members of the late leader was graced by the Mines and Geology Minister Galla Aruna Kumari, her husband and industrialist Galla Ramachandra Naidu, Puthalapattu Congress MLA P. Ravi and senior TDP leaders of the district.

Sharing the stage, along with Ms. Galla Aruna Kumari for the first time, Mr. Naidu lambasted the Congress leadership, holding it responsible for the prevailing political turmoil in the State, unleashing an atmosphere to divide the Telugu people.

The TDP chief said that the YSR Congress will merge with the Congress in Seemandhra, while the TRS would do the same in Telangana soon.

“Union Ministers P.C. Chidambaram and Veerappa Moily are out to destroy the unity of Telugus with political intrigues. The leaders in Delhi can never be able to write the fate (Thala Ratha) of ours (Telugus),” he said.

Mr. Naidu reiterated the TDP’s stand on waiver of farm loans, employment to youth, better deal to Anganwadi workers, women self help groups and free power supply to farmers.

Galla to switch loyalties

Ms. Galla Aruna Kumari, who spoke earlier, recalled the services rendered by veteran Congress leader and former Chittoor MP Changalraya Naidu to the people of the region.

Though her son, Mr. Galla Jaydev, an aspirant for Guntur MP ticket, was expected to attend the event, it did not happen. However, Mr. Naidu’s tirade against the Congress in the presence of Ms. Galla Aruna Kumari was largely viewed as a prelude to the latter's possible entry into the TDP.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu, who flew in from Bangalore, arrived at Seshapuram village in Bangarupalem mandal, and unveiled the statue of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.
