As part of the ongoing China tour, Andhra Pradesh delegation led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reached Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province and met its Governor, Wei Hong on Wednesday.
While extending an invitation to the delegation to visit the town, the Governor said “India and China are the two Asian countries which will have to be watched for in the future,” Mr. Hong added.
He said their province was keen about Andhra Pradesh’s culture and tourism sectors.

Stating that the Andhra Pradesh has strong roots in IT and agriculture, Mr. Hong extended support in the construction sector. He mentioned that there will be over 130 enterprises attending the round-table meeting scheduled on Thursday.
Mr. Hong said nearly 50 per cent of the lap tops in the world were being manufactured in Sichuan province. The Governor also pointed out at the similar challenges China and Andhra Pradesh state has to fight.
“There is an imbalance in the development with poverty still rampant,” Mr. Hong added.

He also asked the Chief Minister to ensure a continuous communication system was put in place for deliberations between Chinese companies and AP government. Nominating one of his colleagues to work with Andhra Pradesh, he wished that the province and the State would evolve as sister-states.
The AP delegation later attended the banquet hosted by the Governor. Earlier, the Chief Minister met Ministers and leaders of Communist Party of China.
