Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday invited the Confederation of Indian Industry to contribute their bit to encourage investments in the State and offered government support to industries willing to set up projects in the State.
The invitation from Mr. Naidu came when a CII delegation met him to discuss “Economic Growth Agenda for AP'' and the development strategy for the new State. The delegation comprised president Ajay Shriram, recently-elected Member of Parliament Jay Dev Galla, Vikram Kirloske, Satish Reddy, Shobana Kamineni and B.V.R. Mohan Reddy.
Later, speaking to another delegation from Visakhapatnam, comprising Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, Chairman & Managing Director of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and several MLAs who called on him, Mr. Naidu said all efforts would be directed towards making (VSP) the best steel plant in the country and an unparalled safety record.

In the course of discussions on several issues, the Chief Minister had suggestions to offer.
For example, he said two per cent of VSP’s revenues every year set up towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) locally.
He said it could be used to establish hospitals in the district, apart from setting up water purification plants. Also, priority could be given to locals in the jobs that arose, he said.
