On Saturday evening, some farmers returning home noticed the bodies floating in a farm pond, which were fished out and sent for post-mortem at Kuppam hospital.
The police suspect that the duo might have fallen into the 20-foot-deep pond by accident and died. The deceased duo was allegedly seen clutching to each other’s clothes in a desperate bid to save them. The police also recorded the version of the neighbourhood that Saraswathi and her husband used to quarrel with each other frequently. A case has been registered.
