Hordes of people thronged A Convention Centre on the fifth day of the Nava Nirmana Deeksha programme. According to a rough estimate, more than 13,000 people and employees visited the venue from morning to evening to attend varoius programmes.
The government conducted the programmes simultaneously at three halls at the Convention centre. The footfalls were witnessed at photo galleries and stalls put up by various departments. The visitors eagerly looked at the models of Capital city Amaravati. While Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Youth and Sports Minister Kollu Ravindra and others detailed about the government initiatives in the morning session, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu interacted with students in the evening.
On the occasion, Mr. Naidu said that the State government was giving top priority for education and employment of youth. The government was providing financial assistance to the students to pursue higher education. Also, about three lakh students underwent skill development training course. Over 434 IT companies were ready to launch their operations from A.P., he said. Several national and international institutions were coming to the capital city Amaravati.

The students should work hard and have commitment to reach their goals. They also need to improve their skills and update their knowledge and keep pace with changing technologies, he suggested.
Several other degree students expressed happiness over receiving placements offers even though they were in final year of graduation course. Sharing her experience, P Nandini, studying B.Sc (Computer Science) at ASN degree college in Tenali, said that she got placement offer in eight companies after she attended skill development programme conducted by the government.
The online and off line training programme conducted under skill development progamme were helpful. The confidence levels increased after attending the training, she said.

T. Manideep, B.Sc third year student, said that he got placements in 6 companies and another student T Rugved said that he got placements in two companies.
₹23,000 cr for health, education
Earlier in the day, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that the government was spending ₹23,000 crore on education and health sectors. The primary education receives the lion’s share of the budget earmarked for the education. Unless, we keep abreast of latest technologies, we will be lagging behind others. Hence, the government was giving top priority to skill development programmes, he said.
