Mopidevi alleges land grab by TDP leaders

Former Minister and Bapatla YSRCP Parliamentary in-charge Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao has levelled serious charges against TDP leaders, including Repalle MLA A. Satya Prasad, accusing the later of fudging revenue records of forest lands in Dindi mandal and swindling public money from banks to the tune of ₹6 crore.

On Monday, Mr. Venkataramana Rao, along with party State unit leaders Ravi Venkata Ramana, Lella Appireddy and Guntur East MLA Sk. Mustafa and others, submitted a memorandum with evidences against the MLA to District Collector Kona Sasidhar at the weekly grievances day here and demanded a probe into the issue.

“The TDP leaders have colluded with revenue authorities in Dindi and have created false land records for 450 acres in survey Nos. 874 and 875 and 1,200 acres in survey Nos. 1128 and 1129. Later, they secured bank loans to the tune of ₹6 crores after pledging the documents in banks. The revenue, fisheries department personnel also colluded with local TDP leaders.

Stating that the MLA was also trying to get a pharma company to invest in the region, the YSRCP leaders said that the local farmers who have lost their valuable lands would not allow any such move.

MLA’s challenge

Replying to their charges, Mr. Satya Prasad threw a challenge that he would resign and quit politics if the charges against him were proved. He also accused Mr. Venkataramana Rao of being involved in a land scam pertaining to Vanpic industries in 2008.
