Money criterion for giving ticket in YSRCP: Naidu

‘Jagan seems to be selecting candidates on KCR’s advice’

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday alleged that YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was doing politics from Hyderabad with the tacit support of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Their understanding reached such a stage where the YSRCP seemed to decide its candidates for the general elections on Mr. Rao’s advice, Mr. Naidu observed.

He also alleged that the TDP leaders who have their properties in Hyderabad were being threatened with dire consequences if they did not leave the party.

Addressing the party leaders through a teleconference here, Mr. Naidu said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was averse to staying in Andhra Pradesh, and service to people was not the benchmark for selecting contestants for the YSRCP. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would give ticket to those who offer maximum money as it was business for him. The YSRCP was full of one-time players, Mr. Naidu alleged.

Dig at Modi

Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Rao were unable to digest the progress being achieved by A.P., which was the reason for their interference in the State’s affairs, he said.

The Centre had been troubling the State and several projects were kept on hold because the TDP charted its own course, Mr. Naidu observed.
