Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday promised to ensure MLC posts to those leaders who may not get party tickets in the Assembly and Parliament elections.
Addressing a meeting on the occasion of admission into TRS of actor-politician Babu Mohan, Congress MLA Akula Rajender, educationist P. Rajeswara Reddy and academic A. Sitaram Naik, Mr. Rao said it would be a TRS-led government in Telangana State. In this context, he appealed to leaders who could not be given tickets to bear with the party and wait until the MLC elections.
Mr. Rao was trying to assuage the ruffled feelings of Nalgonda district president of TRS Banda Narender Reddy who is unlikely to get the ticket.

He said the TRS would march ahead with a new State, new leadership and new development strategies. “The party will form the government 100 per cent, no matter any number of obstacles put up by Congress and TDP,” he said. The previous governments were in no position to change the face of the region. A new government was the need of the hour if the problems plaguing the region were to be overcome, he said.
He promised free and compulsory education from kindergarten to post-graduation for 40 lakh students. The power shortage in Telangana will be overcome in two years. He appealed to people not to be swayed by promises of other parties. Meanwhile, a youth was attacked by a large group after Mr. Rao left the venue owing to an altercation on the stage.
