Mild heat wave conditions in State

Andhra Pradesh continued to reel under mild heat wave conditions for the second consecutive day on Sunday, with the mercury crossing 40 degrees Celsius at several places.

Rentachintala in Guntur district recorded a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius for the second day, the highest during the season so far in the State. Among the regions, Rayalaseema experienced searing heat with Kurnool and Nandyal recording 44 degrees Celsius.

Kadapa recorded 43 degrees C, Anantapur 42 degrees C and Tirupati 41 degrees C. Telangana ranked next with Mahabubnagar and Hanamkonda recording 43 degrees C, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad and Hakimpet 41 degrees C and Bhadrachalam 40 degrees C.

Mercury levels in Coastal Andhra, on the other hand, were relatively on the lower side. A forecast issued by the State Met Office said isolated rains were likely in the State on Monday.
