Speakers at a seminar ‘Emerge MBA’ organised by The Hindu in association with Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE) Hyderabad at Vaageswari College of Engineering here on Saturday said that an MBA degree helps students to discuss, debate and analyse topics and learn from that experience, which can be applied in their profession later.

Delivering key note address, former Scientist of DRDO and director of TKR Educational Society S.R. Ramaswamy said that MBA degree helps students to develop skills such as communication, team work and optimum utilisation of human resources. IPE Assistant Professor M. Karthik spoke about globalisation – scope for MBA in international business by giving examples. The experts also clarified various doubts during the interactive session with students. Stating that online MBA degrees would not help in securing employment, the experts said that doing MBA in India was better than doing the same in unrecognised foreign universities. To a query about the difference of doing MBA in regular university and B School, the experts said that the universities have fixed curriculum and the B schools’ syllabus was flexible according to the requirement of the market. The B School faculty is exposed to training and research and it would definitely help the students, they added.

They also said that the investment in MBA was good and the banks were also coming forward to extend educational loans. Vaageshwari College principal Ch Srinivas, general secretary G. Srinivasa Reddy, joint secretary D. Srinivas Reddy, The Hindu senior regional manager S.D.T. Rao and others were present.
