A master plan has been prepared keeping in view the growth and needs of Warangal town for 2030, BC Welfare Minister Baswaraju Saraiah has said.
Speaking at a function held to elicit views of the people’s representatives on the master plan prepared by the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) here on Friday, the Minister said the draft plan would be made public and citizens can share their opinions and suggestions on it either verbally or in written format to the administration.
“The master plan envisages widening of the roads in the town. However, we will take views of the residents into consideration before going ahead with the plan. Without public cooperation, this master plan cannot be put into practice,” the Minister said. Saraiah wanted the Warangal Municipal Corporation and the KUDA to work in unison to improve the infrastructure of the town. “There is shortage of roads in proportion to growing number of vehicles and road users. The drainage system has also become obsolete and is much below the requirements,” he pointed out.

According to Minister, a fund of Rs. 21 crore has been earmarked for the the outer ring road that would cover from Peddammagadda to the KMC and then from Madikonda to Ursugutta. For the road under construction from the KU junction to Karimnagar ring road, Rs. 40 crore would be sanctioned soon. Collector G. Kishan said that master plan was prepared keeping in the view the requirement of people in the next 20 to 30 years. Hence, people should come out and share their views on the plan for its smooth implementation. TRS MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar wanted the officials to identify the government lands in the town and ensure their safety.
