Man, son arrested in couple murder case

Police unravelled the mystery behind the brutal murder of Patte Ayyavaraiah, 38, an old cloth vendor and his wife Patte Nagulu, 35, in Sainathapuram Street in Mydukur of Kadapa district on March 29 midnight. They arrested Ayyavaraiah’s paternal uncle Patte Chinna Narasimhulu, 56, and his son Patte Srinivasulu, 21, on Thursday.

The accused brutally hacked the couple to death while they were asleep on the terrace of their house, owing to jealousy in old cloth business and to gain leadership among Budabukkala community in Mydukur, Mydukur DSP M.V. Ramakrishnaiah and Urban Circle Inspector Y. Venkateswarlu told the media at Mydukur.

A motorcycle, a sickle and a knife used in the murder and the blood-stained clothes of the accused were seized when they were arrested at Alamkhanpalli Circle in Kadapa, the DSP said.
