A city court on Monday convicted and sentenced to life a 45-year-old man for sexually assaulting his 11-year-old daughter at Chintakuntapalem village, near Parchur in Prakasam district.
First Additional District Judge Sk.Md. Ismail upheld the prosecution case booked under Section 6 of the Prevention Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Section 506 IPC(criminal intimidation) against the man.
The court found the man guilty of repeatedly sexually assaulting his daughter living with him for six months after parting of ways by his wife with whom their another daughter lived as per an arrangement between them, public prosecutor K.V. Rameswara Reddy said.

“This is a rarest of rare case in which life sentence has been awarded under POCSO Act,” he added.
