Man crushed to death under Ganesha idol in Guntur

The incident took place when a group of men were going to Krishnayapalem village in Guntur District to immerse an idol of Ganesha.

A 43-year-old man was crushed to death when a Ganesh idol fell on him at Vekatapalem village in Mangalagiri Rural mandal on Thursday morning. Police said the man was identified as T. Veerabhadra Rao of Yerrabalem village.

The incident took place when a group of men were going to Krishnayapalem village to immerse the idol of Ganesha. The statue got entangled with electrical wires and when they tried to disentangle it, it fell on the people below. Mr. Rao who was standing behind the statue was crushed to death and three others were injured. They were shifted to GGH, Vijayawada.
