Madhu Yashki targets Governor on Telangana

December 25, 2012 02:22 pm | Updated June 15, 2016 09:53 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Congress MP from Nizamabad Madhu Yashki alleged that Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan had been sending reports regularly to the Centre against Telangana and they had a huge impact on the Centre’s attitude towards the issue.

In the first such criticism of the Governor by a ruling party leader publicly, Mr. Yashki said here on Monday night that the Governor, who worked and retired as a police officer, had been continuing his ‘profession’ even in his present role.

Based on his reports, the Prime Minister had developed a belief that left-wing extremism would resurface in the region if it was made a separate State, the MP said.

Speaking at a diary release function of the Telangana Group-I Officers’ Association, Mr. Yashki accused Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, recently-inducted Union Minister K. Chiranjeevi, K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and the TDP leadership of having a role in scuttling the chances of Telangana.

TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the December 28 movement would not serve any purpose except exposing the parties like Congress, TDP and YSRC on Telangana. He asked all Telangana protagonists to think about how to achieve Telangana before the 2014 elections and if not possible through these elections.

The TRS would plan a massive march to Hyderabad in March to lay siege to the Assembly to press for Telangana.
