YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has appealed to all MLAs, irrespective of party affiliations, to come together and submit affidavits to President Pranab Mukherjee for keeping the State united. At a press conference, he urged the legislators, especially those of Congress and Telugu Desam, to act in accordance with their conscience and submit the affidavits whether there was voting or not on draft A.P. Reorganisation Bill in the Assembly. “Let us all collectively submit affidavits,” he said.
Lashing out at Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, he accused them of colluding and termed as “atrocious” the stand of Mr. Naidu in allowing legislators from both the regions to stall the Assembly. In Parliament, the TDP MPs displayed the same dichotomy even while he and two other MPs daily raised the issue of injustice to Andhra Pradesh and brought it to the attention of the entire country.
He charged Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy with deceiving the people and faulted him for rushing the draft Bill to the Assembly in 17 hours after he signed it.
