Lepakshi expo gets under way

For those patronising the traditional handlooms and handicrafts, many stalls have come up at the Lepakshi exhibition which was opened at the TTD Kalyanamandapam in Dargamitta area here on Monday.

The expo, which was inaugurated by Joint Collector A.Md. Imtiyaz, would remain open till October 17.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Imtiaz said that there was a need to support the cause of the artisans who were still continuing the art works developed by their ancestors long time back.

Stalls have been showcasing saris and other dress material from the well-known Venkatagiri, Gadwal and Pochampalli areas. There are also stalls for selling the exquisite art works like Kondapalli toys. Lepakshi manager T. Venkataramanappa and others were present.
