Leopard on prowl caught

Forest Department officials on Thursday caught a leopard in Settur mandal of Anantapur district. The animal was first located by people of Chinnampalli on Wednesday afternoon. They at once informed forest officials, who later deployed guards in the village. The leopard was spotted again on Thursday afternoon. “We caught the animal using nets,” said District Forest Officer P.S. Raghaviah. He added that the animal might have strayed from the nearby Kalyanadurgam forest range, 3 km away from the village.
