KRU signs MoU on Kuchipudi courses

The Krishna University (KRU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kuchipudi-based Akhila Bharata Kuchipudi Natya Kala Mandali, (ABKNKM) to offer three new courses in Kuchipudi dance.

According to the MoU signed on Thursday, renowned dancers and experts will train the students in Kuchipudi dance at Kuchipudi village in the Krishna district from the academic year 2015-16.

The KRU is inviting applications from the interested candidates for admission into the new courses in Kuchipudi dance — Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma (Sutradhaar). However, the candidates need to qualify in the special test to be conducted by the KRU for admission into the courses. As many as 30 seats are available in each course. April 20 is the last date to apply for the courses with late fee. “The students will be provided professional training and will have access to a treasure trove of dance literature available with us. The course period will enable them to interact with many dance personalities of our village,” ABKNKM founder secretary Pasumarthy Kesava Prasad told
