Konda Surekha promises to remain with YSRC

Denies that she is unhappy for not being made an MLC

YSRC leader Konda Murali and wife Konda Surekha coming out of Chanchalguda prison after meeting Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, in Hyderabad onTuesday.

YSR Congress leader Konda Surekha on Tuesday denied reports that she was planning to leave the party and asserted that she would remain with YSR family and strive to strengthen the party.

Talking to reporters after meeting YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy along with her husband, Konda Murali Rao, and Balineni Srinivas Reddy at Chanchalguda jail on Tuesday, she said there was no truth in the reports that she would be changing the party.

The Konda couple have been sulking and maintaining a low profile after four of their followers were suspended from the party recently.

She also denied that she was unhappy because she was not made an MLC. She said some of their followers were facing problems in the district after they were kept away from the party and the same was brought to the notice of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, who responded sympathetically and promised to resolve the issue. She said minor mistakes could occur anywhere.

Ms. Surekha said political situation in the State was discussed with Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, who gave suggestions on how take forward the party. Ms. Surekha said she would fully devote her time to the party affairs and remain with honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma and Y.S. Sharmila.
