Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that his government will not tolerate individuals who attempt to fuel communal differences among the people and asserted that stringent action, including legal measures, would be initiated against those found guilty of such incidents.
The remarks assume significance in the light of the recent developments leading to the arrest of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and his brother and MP Asaduddin Owaisi who are presently in jail. The Chief Minister who was addressing a big gathering after paying tributes to former deputy chief minister C. Jagannath Rao on Wednesday, however, did not name the MIM leaders.
Mr. Kiran Reddy refuted the charges of political vendetta levelled against him and the Government on the recent developments. Law would take its course against those making statements against the Constitution or try to fuel communal tensions.

“The Medak police recently arrested a person in connection with a case registered and charge-sheet filed in 2005. How am I related to that? Don’t try to instigate people. I am prepared to act tough if some one tries to create communal tensions. I will not commit mistake and will not allow others to do so,” he warned. On the ongoing debate for and against separate Telangana, he said the leaders from Telangana and Seemandhra were lobbying in New Delhi.
“I do not know whether it has reached climax or not. We are seeking a positive decision for all. We should be in a position to work in a free atmosphere if a decision is taken,” he said.
