Kiran names party ‘Jai Samaikyandhra’

March 10, 2014 02:25 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 07:28 pm IST - HYDERABAD/RAJAHMUNDRY:

Former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will name his new party ‘Jai Samaikyandhra Party’ in all likelihood, going by the popular Samaikyandhra sentiment on which he fought against the Congress leadership at the Centre.

His aides said that Mr. Reddy is likely to make a formal announcement about the name of the new party on Monday. He would prefer to make other details public at the massive rally being organised at Rajahmundry on March 12. Despite knowing the name, nomenclature, agenda, issues and other aspects, senior leaders preferred to remain tight-lipped. In Rajahmundry, three former MPs and a former Minister, who are going to figure in the executive body of the former Chief Minister’s new party, have stated that the agenda, flag and election manifesto would be declared on Wednesday.

They said that the new party would live up to the expectations of the Seemandhra people, address their concerns, share their pain and grief and also send a strong team of public representatives, who could stop the bifurcation at the eleventh hour.

Former Minister Pithani Satyanarayana, former MPs Vundavalli Arun Kumar, G.V. Harsha Kumar and Lagadapati Rajagopal said they had finalised all the issues relating to the new party and an official announcement would come from the former Chief Minister on Wednesday only.
