Occasion was ‘At Home’ hosted by Governor

Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan had a free-wheeling discussion with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) and his son, Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) at the ceremonial ‘At Home’ programme hosted by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan in Hyderabad on the Republic Day evening.

Federal front

Their informal meeting came in the wake of the recent deliberations between Mr. KTR and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the latter’s residence in the common capital of A.P. and Telangana on the formation of the federal front.

Mr. Pawan said at that time the YSRCP and the TRS had reached a tacit understanding to work together in the general elections in A.P. and the parleys held by Mr. KTR and Mr. Jagan had lent credence to that theory.

More importantly, Mr. Pawan had welcomed the idea of a ‘federal front’ when it was brought into the picture by Mr. KCR but had since remained tight-lipped on the manner in which it panned out with the leaders of national parties reportedly throwing their weight behind it. Besides, the JSP chief just ruled out an alliance with the TDP following a statement by MP T.G. Venkatesh and instead decided to move forward with the Left parties.
