Indian Barytes and Chemicals Ltd. chairman Kandula Rajamohana Reddy and his elder brother and former MLA Kandula Sivananda Reddy, popularly known as ‘Kandula brothers’ in Kadapa district, are all set to join Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Kandula brothers said on Friday they would join the BJP at a public meeting to be addressed by Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu and BJP State president K. Hari Babu at municipal stadium hereon Sunday. Mr. Rajamohana Reddy and his brother are likely to quit the YSR Congress. “There is a huge political vacuum in YSRC,” Mr. Rajamohana Reddy said.
Mr. Reddy, who met BJP national president Amit Shah, Union Ministers and State leaders during Mr. Shah’s recent visit to Vijayawada, addressed meetings in seven Assembly constituencies in Kadapa district in the last three days. “We see a huge opportunity for development in Rayalaseema in Narendra Modi government in view of its commitment to nation building and development”, he said.
