Despite strong rumours that all was not well within the party, Jai Samaikyandhra Party chief Kiran Kumar Reddy put up a brave front by unveiling the draft manifesto here on Monday, promising to bring in a sub-plan for Backward Classes on the lines of SC/ST Sub-Plan which he implemented when he was the Chief Minister.
Grand schemeAmidst speculations that former Minister Pithani Satyanarayana did not attend the presidential bureau meeting in the afternoon as he too could walk out of the party, the JSP president said the sub-plan for BC welfare would be their grand scheme in the party manifesto.

The party chief said they would safeguard cultivable land by bringing in a special Act and added that they would re-look at the land allocation policy in the manifesto.
Mr. Reddy sought amendments to the contentious Article 3.
Unveiling the party plans for the future, N. Tulasi Reddy, general secretary, said they intend to develop satellite townships in districts and a special scheme for women and child welfare.

The party also plans to develop industrial corridors, taking advantage of the vast coastline.
Mr. Kiran Reddy said agriculture and allied sectors like horticulture, sericulture and poultry development would be given top priority in the manifesto.
To seek support of likeminded partiesThe meeting also decided to seek support from national parties who supported united Andhra cause. A delegation of JSP would meet AIADMK, DMK, SP, Biju Janata Dal and Trinamool Congress leaders soon, a party leader said.
The presidential bureau meeting discussed core issues like manifesto and selection of candidates for the Assembly and Parliament elections.
