Joint Inspection Team mooted for grant of construction permits in local bodies

The Andhra Pradesh government has agreed in-principle to form a Joint Inspection Team with officials from various departments for granting construction permits as part of ‘ Ease of Doing Business’.

After the online building permission approval, the joint inspection committee will conduct single and joint site inspection for granting construction permits at all urban local bodies, according to a proposal submitted to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.

The Joint Inspection Team is proposed with General Manager, District Industries Centre, (Industries department for approval of installations), District Fire Officer or Head of Fire Wing of Urban Local Body (AP Disaster Management and Fire Services Department), officer form Airport Authority of India (National Airport Authority of India – if the site under reference falls in air funnel zone or jurisdiction of NAAI to give appropriate suggestions or objections), local executive engineer of Irrigation department (if the site is near to canals, lakes etc.. to offer suggestions or objections).

The other members are Environmental engineer from AP Pollution Control Board, Tehsildar concerned from Revenue department, Regional Deputy Director, Town Planning from Director of Town and Country Planning Department, Inspector of Factories from Factories Department, District Labour Officer from Labour Department, DRM concerned from Railway Department, Executive Engineer or NHAI officer from R&B department and NHAI and Executive Engineer of APIIC.

The DIC General Manager will be the Member convener.
