JNTU-A now on par with world-class varsities

Students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University - Anantapur (JNTU-A) have been the beneficiaries of changes that took place at the university on many fronts.

Today, JNTU-A students can avail fee concessions at top U.S. universities including the University of Chicago, University of Flamingo and Eastern Illinois University.

JNTU-A’s collaborative bachelors degree and masters programme at Eastern Illinois University, with a tailor-made curriculum, has instilled hope among students.

JNTUA Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. Lal Kishore said the university, as part of its efforts to make students and faculty members develop interest in research programmes, had initiated measures such as giving recognition to certain departments in colleges with requisite infrastructure and providing highly qualified faculty members at their research centres.

The University has six identified research centres in its affiliated engineering colleges, which include AITS - Rajampeta, SKITS - Srikalahasti, Sri Vidyaniketan - A Rangampeta, MITS – Madanapalle and G Pullareddy College of Engineering at Kurnool. Three pharmacy colleges - CRKN - Kurnool, ANCP - Rajampeta and SVCP - Chittoor - have also been identified as research centres.
