‘Jagan alone striving to protect State’s interests’

The YSR Congress Party has advised Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan to be “extra cautious” with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and not fall prey to his “political tactics.”

Addressing the media here on Thursday, YSRCP leader Bothca Satyanarayana said: “It is high time Mr. Pawan Kalyan disclosed his secret agreement with the TDP. People are closely watching how he has been shielding Mr. Naidu by levelling baseless allegations against the Leader of the Opposition, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, at public meetings.”

Earlier, Mr. Satyanarayana reviewed the arrangements for the party’s public meeting, ‘Vanchanapai Garjana’, to be organised here on Friday.

Accusing Mr. Pawan Kalyan of diverting public attention from “the misrule” of Mr. Naidu, he wondered why he was targeting the Opposition leader and not the Chief Minister.

“People are aware that Mr. Pawan Kalyan has never questioned the TDP government in the last over four years. He swung into action ahead of the elections just to shield the TDP again,” Mr. Satyanarayana said, adding that Mr. Naidu’s invite to the JSP to join the grand alliance in Telangana had revealed “the secret agenda” of the two parties.

‘Doublespeak’

Coming down on Mr. Naidu for indulging in “doublespeak” on key issues, Mr. Satyanarayana said the TDP’s alliance with the Congress in Telangana had proved again that Mr. Naidu had no respect for values, and was only keen on retaining his position by any means.

“Mr. Jagan alone is fighting to protect the interests of the people by highlighting issues such as the Special Category Status (SCS),” he said.
