YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a public meeting at Ravullacheruvu village in Dharmavaram mandal of Anantapur district on Sunday.

The ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ being undertaken by the Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy crossed the 510-km mark on the 37th day on Sunday.

The yatra which started from Gotluru village of Anantapur district moved to Tippepalli Cross village where Mr. Jagan met unemployed youth who complained about the lack of opportunities in the State and the government not keeping its promise of providing unemployment allowance.

Mr. Reddy alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had cheated the people of the State regardless of what their caste or religion was.

Speaking to women and old people, Mr. Reddy said that “their government” (a YSRCP government) was going to be formed and that their genuine grievances of not being given ration cards and not being provided adequate ration would then be solved. Some weavers who met the YSRCP chief presented him a saree with ‘navaratnalu’ (nine gem stones) – the promises of the YSRCP made to the people – and his photograph weaved on it.

Later, a group of home guards met Mr. Reddy and urged him to bring pressure on the government to raise their salaries as had been done by the government of Telangana recently. The yatra ended at Darsinamala village after covering 15.6 km for the day.
