Jagan case: CBI yet to file final charge-sheet

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and others told a special court here on Monday that it would file a supplementary charge-sheet in the case against three pharmaceutical companies on Tuesday.

The three pharmaceutical companies – Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero Drugs and Trident Life Sciences – were named accused in the list of 13 in the first charge-sheet filed on March 31 last year.

Sources said the probe agency had secured more evidence against the three companies in support of the charge that they had invested in Jagan’s companies on quid-pro-quo basis for getting benefited by the State government, particularly in the form of allotment of lands, allegedly due to the influence of Jagan on the government headed by his father then.

However, the CBI is learnt to have not taken a decision yet in the matter of seven pending aspects in the case in which filing of charge-sheet is due. The investigating officers were said to be awaiting nod from higher authorities on filing the final charge-sheet, though the agency had told the Supreme Court that probe would be completed by March 31. The judge extended the remand of Jagan, Nimmagadda Prasad, Mopidevi Venkataramana and K.V. Brahmananda Reddy, who were produced through video-conferencing, till April 8.
