Innovate, compete and fly to NASA

In a one-of-its-kind science hunt, The Hindu and Space Kidz India present “The Young Scientist India- 2015,” powered by the Hindustan University, to recognise young prodigies from various parts of the country.

Students of any board can participate. Government school students all over India are encouraged to participate and special prizes will be awarded to them. Any student from any school within Indian territory from Std IX — XII (PU 1&2 / Inter 1st-2nd yr) can participate.

Students can take part with projects from any one of the below five categories (one student can participate in only one category) — aeronautical sciences, electrical, electronics, robotics, space sciences.

The entry is free. Registration and project submission must be done online at www.spacekidzindia.com on or before January 20.

From each category 25 best projects will be chosen and those students will have to appear for the final round of the competition to be held on February 2 at Hindustan University, Chennai. The event will be judged by eminent professors and scientists. The winner and the winning school’s science teacher or principal will be awarded a trip to NASA, and also be a co-pilot for a day at a premium aviation school in the United States.

Runner-up will be awarded a ticket to Malaysia along with the principal or science teacher. Trophies and certificates will be given to all finalists. Participation certificates will be sent to all students.
