Even as the State government is billing Godavari Maha Pushkarams as a major spiritual and cultural event to worship and celebrate River Godavari as the lifeline of people, Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have expressed his discontent over the tardy progress of Pushkaram related works.
Reviewing the Pushakram related works in the Cabinet meeting on Saturday, he was apparently annoyed with the Ministers and officials for their indifference over the tardy pace of works as there were only 10 days time left.
Directing the officials to speed up the works without compromising on the quality, he said no room should be given for any complaints from pilgrims.

He also warned that stern action would be initiated for any lapse in the arrangements.
Mr. Naidu was particularly unhappy with the arrangements in Rajahmundry, out of 12 Pushkaram venues.
However, officials assured the Chief Minister that all the works related Pushkarams – ghats and amenities for pilgrims were almost completed.
