Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna said there was pressure from well-wishers and fans to contest from Hindupur constituency in Anantapur which was represented by his late father N.T. Rama Rao in the past.

Addressing a meeting after taking part in the ‘Legend’ movie success rally here on Friday, he said the place of his election would be decided after meeting party president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Mr. Balakrishna who appeared to be in high spirits said he was grateful to the viewers for making his latest movie a grand success. He considered his movie “Simha” as all-time hit but the latest “Legend” was one more feather in his cap. He travelled in open top jeep from Mourya Inn to Anand complex theatre greeting fans who jostled for each other. Mr. Balakrishna tried to make his rally less political by sticking to theme and issues around his movies.

The movie threw light on the travails of women reflecting the ordeals of women in current society. Mr. Balakrishna said he late father had great love and affection for people of Rayalaseema who gave more importance to honour and self-esteem rather than life, the qualities which were also dear to NTR. He had never discriminated among any region of the state and treated all as equals.

Producer of the movie Boyapati Srinivas and others took part in the rally.
