Oppressive heat wave condition prevailing across Telangana on Thursday claimed as many as 34 lives even as day temperature continued to shoot up.
Warangal and Adilabad accounted for 22 deaths respectively while other districts too reported casualties.
Four deaths were reported from Karimnagar, three each from Nizamabad and Medak districts.

With temperatures touching around 46 degree Celsius in Nizamabad and Ramagundam, people suffered a lot. There was no respite from the sweltering heat with Ramagundam town recording 46.8 degree Celsius followed by Nizamabad 46.6 degree Celsius. Hyderabad also witnessed the temperatures rising to 44.3 degree Celsius departure of five degrees from normal temperature. The Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, said the temperatures in twin cities would go up to 45 degrees Celsius in the coming 48 hours.
In the twin cities, deserted roads greeted people as the temperature soared.

Local met office forecast said that heat wave conditions prevailed over some parts of Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts of Telangana. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature rose at one or two places in the State.
They were above normal at a few places. It warned that severe heat wave conditions would prevail over some parts of all the 10 districts in Telangana.
