The State Government has reiterated its plea for effective implementation of provisions under Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act to ensure safety and liberty of people of Andhra Pradesh living in Hyderabad, which will remain the joint capital of both AP and Telangana for 10 years.
A group of Ministers led by Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Saturday and apprised him about the tapping of telephones of TDP leaders, including Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and officials. They submitted to the Governor the resolutions adopted by the State Cabinet at its meeting on June 9, condemning the action of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi ( TRS)-led Telanagana Government in resorting to tapping of telephones and sought his intervention in checking such practices.
Though the Ministers planned to meet the Governor on June 9 itself, they could not do so as Mr. Narasimhan left for New Delhi on that day. They alleged that there was no conducive atmosphere for the effective functioning of the AP Government in the joint capital and wanted the Governor to ensure that the assurances given in the AP Reorganisation Act were effectively enforced.

Ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao, Kamineni Srinivas, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Ravela Kishore Babu and Pithala Sujatha were part of the group of Minister that met the Governor.
