The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has put in place elaborate arrangements, including Global Positioning System (GPS) in Prakasam district, to ensure malpractice-free Intermediate examinations scheduled from March 2 to 21.
“We have hooked on the 82 examination centres to the GPS. Mobile phones in and around the examination centre will be tracked using GPS and no one including invigilators will be allowed to use phones inside the examination centre,” Regional Inspection Officer (RIO) V. Ramesh said.
Only if needed the call data of the users would be verified with the help of the police, he added.

Students would write the exams under the surveillance of the CC Cameras in four centres identified as problematic, he said.
Flying squads
Eight flying squads and four sitting squads would monitor the conduct of the examinations, he said.

The High-power Committee headed by District Collector Sujata Sharma would oversee the conduct of the examinations with District Education Committee and RIO-led Committee making surprise visits, he added.
In all, 52,156 students, including 26,299 junior Intermediate students, would sit for the examinations to be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Grace time
Asking the students to be in the examination centres by 8.30 a.m., he said a grace time of 15 minutes would allowed after making entry in the late register in case of any emergency in the first instance. Police case would be booked against students coming late repeatedly, he warned.
