Govt. increases wages of home guards to ₹600 per day

Home guards waiting outside the Chief Minister’s residence at Undavalli on Friday to express their gratitude for increasing their wages.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the wages of home guard will be increased to ₹600 per day from ₹400.

The announcement came when leaders of the A.P. Police Officers’ Association and Home Guards’ Association met Mr. Naidu on Friday.

Ex gratia

The Chief Minister also increased the maternity leave to three months. An ex gratia of ₹5 lakh would be paid in case of accidental or natural death. Medical facility under NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme would also be extended to all the home guards in the State.

In all, 12,368 home guards are working and 3,248 home guards are in various State and Central government organisations. DGP M. Malakondaiah, Home Secretary A.R. Anuradha, Additional DG (Intelligence) A.B. Venkateswara Rao, Police Officers’ Association president Srinivas, and Home Guards’ Association president S. Govind were present.
