Proposal under active consideration of CM, says Yanamala

In a bid to ensure excellent governance to citizens, the State government is mulling over the establishment of a Good Governance Authority and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is personally evaluating the project, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said.

Addressing a meeting as part of the Janmabhoomi - Maa Ooru programme at Suryanarayanapuram in the city on Tuesday, the Minister said with the help of information technology, the government could improve the quality of services being rendered to the public and reduce the document disbursal time.

“Similarly, there is an immediate need to make amendments to certain Acts. If necessary, some Acts will even be scrapped. A committee has already been studying the issue and a detailed report will be submitted to the government very soon,” he said, adding that protection of public properties was another major challenge for the government.

Referring to the ongoing development works in the city, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that efforts were on to construct a third bridge across the Upputeru, to tackle traffic congestion.

Collector Kartikeya Misra said real time good governance was in vogue in the district and people could register their complaints and grievances by dialling the toll-free phone number ‘1100’. Top priority would be accorded to addressing the complaints and grievances received from the public during the Janmabhoomi programme, he said.
