Gold ‘haaram’ goes missing from Tiruchanur temple

In a shocking incident, ‘Kasula haaram’ made of gold reportedly went missing from the Tiruchanur temple here on Thursday. The ornament weighing about 200 grams is used to adorn the presiding deity of Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru. It was found missing during a cleaning cum purification ritual performed at the sanctum sanctorum. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) management has ordered a probe into the incident.
