It benefits none, says the Minister

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao addressing the media in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

State HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, while terming YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as an immature politician, has opined that the latter’s ‘padayatra’ benefits none in the State.

Besides ‘padayatra’ in the State, the Leader of the Opposition has also been attending the court regularly for his involvement in various corruption cases, the Minister has ridiculed.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, the HRD Minister said that Mr. Reddy’s ‘yatra’ was totally different from that of other leaders like TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Naidu had undertaken ‘padayatra’ to know the issues of the people which helped him in chalking out the party manifesto earlier. But, Mr. Reddy’s ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’ was aimed at criticising the State government’s programmes, he pointed out.

The Minister questioned: “Why Mr. Reddy did not utter a word against Prime Minister Narendra Modi who failed to keep the promises he made to the people of Andhra Pradesh.”

The HRD Minister also found fault with YSRCP which released a book titled ‘Avineeti Chakravarthi’ against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. It was ridiculous that a party, the leader of which was mired in a number corruption cases, releasing the book.
