Footwear has been chosen as the election symbol of Jai Samaikyandhra Party led by former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the MPs expelled by the Congress.
The symbol was unveiled by a young girl, representing the party’s avowed promise of representing the aspirations and protecting the interests of the future generations, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy explained at an interaction with students and youth organised by the party here, on Sunday.
Promising to give greater representation to youth in the allocation of tickets, he asserted that the party was formed to provide a platform to the future generation of the State whose cause they claimed to espouse by trying to keep the State unified. The bifurcation will be detrimental to both the States and in fact, Telangana will be the bigger loser, he said.

The bifurcation should have been taken up only if it was expected to do justice to the people of both regions, he added.
Members of Parliament Harsha Kumar, Vundavalli Arun Kumar and Sabbam Hari hit out at the Congress for pushing through the bifurcation without taking into consideration the aspirations of the people of both the regions.
They termed the bifurcation a conspiracy against the Telugu people. Telangana is not the personal property of any one individual to be bequeathed, Sabbam Hari said hitting out at Sonia Gandhi for pushing through her decision.

Members of student organisations and other sections like doctors who participated in the Samaikyandhra agitation, urged everyone to vote for the Jai Samaikyandhra Party to teach the Congress a lesson. Former Minister Pithani Satyanarayana, former chairman RECAP K.C. Reddy, Ghazal Srinivas and student leaders from the region, among others, were present. Kiran Kumar Reddy and other leaders later had lunch along with the students.
The party leaders were scheduled to interact with womenfolk in Sabbavaram in the district later in the evening and on Monday with the members of all JACs that participated in the agitation.
