Film maker dead

Film producer Tammareddy Krishnamurthy passed away on Monday.

The 94-year-old producer’s end came when he collapsed in the bathroom at the C.R. Foundation old age home where he was residing. He is survived by wife Krishnaveni and son Tammareddy Bharadwaja, a noted film producer himself.

Krishnamurthy, born in Chinapalaparru village in Krishna district, was the brother of former CPI State secretary T. Satyanarayana and had worked as a full time activist in the Left movement.

He played a key role in the formation of Praja Natya Mandali, the cultural wing of the CPI before entering into film line in late 1940s. CPI leaders including its State secretary K. Narayana, CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu, Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Union Minister of State for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi mourned the death of film producer.
