Fifty five injured in RTC bus accidents

Forty passengers sustained injuries, two of them severely, when a hired RTC bus of Tadpatri depot overturned at Vontimitta in Rajampet mandal on Saturday.

The bus overturned when the driver tried to avoid crashing into a parked car and a lorry coming in the opposite direction. Two severely injured passengers were sent to RIMS.

RTC, transport and police officials inspected the accident spot.

Staff Reporter: Fifteen passengers of two APSRTC buses sustained non-life threatening injuries when the two vehicles collided head-on at Bhakarapet ghat section, 3 km from Bhakarapet. The buses, from Madanapalle and Piler depots, were proceeding towards Tirupati and Piler respectively. with the other. The injured were rushed to SVRR Hospital for first aid. The accident resulted in a heavy traffic jam on the ghat road.
