Devotees of Narasimha Swamy observed day-long fast and offered special prayers at dusk in among other temples dedicated to the fierce god at Malakonda, Singarayakonda and Kapilagiri near Markapur in the district.

Malakonda, one of the Nava Narasimha Keshtrams in South India and part of the 108 “Divya Desams” across the country, was agog with religious activity as people came from far away places to offer worship, seeking health, wealth and prosperity.

Thousands of devotees thronged Sri Kapilagiri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Narasimhakonda to witness the celestial wedding of Mahalakshmi with the lord performed by priests led by Srirangam Ramanujacharyulu.
