Farmers of Chatrai mandal who have lost their lands to the Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme, have urged the government to enhance the compensation amount for their lands.

On Sunday, the farmers met Krishna district Collector B. Lakshmikantham and made a representation.

Responding to their plea, the Collector said it was decided to pay a compensation of ₹12.5 lakh per acre to the project-affected farmers and assured them that he would submit a report to the government based on the farmers’ demand.
