11 injured cops rushed to Ruia Hospital

Eleven members of the Redsanders Anti-Smuggling Taskforce (RSASTF) who took part in the encounter at the foot of the Tirumala hills on Tuesday, were rushed to the emergency ward of the Sri Venkateswara Ramnarain Ruia Government General Hospital here with serious injuries.

The injured include members of the RSASTF and Forest Department, who were rushed for treatment at around noon. Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar, Reserve Sub-Inspector Vijay Narasimhulu, Forest Beat Officer S.A. Basha and task force members G. Munuswamy, V. Santosh Kumar, T. Venkateswarlu, G. Dilip Reddy, E. Harikrishna, N. Satya, N. Haribabu and Rama Rao were provided first-aid on arrival at the hospital.

Most of them had bruises and slashes over their bodies, while some suffered giddiness for staying without food for more than twelve hours at a stretch.
