e-bidding launched for fancy vehicle numbers

Bidders can register for the process between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., say officials

The Andhra Pradesh Transport Department has introduced the e-bidding system for online booking of premium registration numbers by new vehicle owners.

The vehicle owners can log on to the website https://aprtacitizen.epragathi.“org and participate in the e-bidding process.

Those seek to participate in the process can register themselves between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

However, the e-bidding for the numbers with more than one contender will be done between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., says a statement issued by Deputy Transport Commissioner S. Venkateswara Rao.

Registration process

After registration, the new vehicle owners can press the e-registration tab to see list of available premium numbers on the computer screen and select the tab against the number of their choice.

They need to click the option ‘special number for registration’.

The applicants need to provide the T/R number of their vehicles along with cellphone number and click on the ‘search’ button. The applicants are suggested to read the terms and conditions and select the box ‘I agree’ and then click on the ‘proceed’ button.

Colour code

The numbers are colour-coded to enable the bidders to know their status. An applicant can choose the numbers from 1 to 1,000. The fee for ‘premium’ and ‘special’ numbers is different and varies for different classes of vehicles.

The mandatory fee has to be paid in ‘payment’ mode through debit or credit cards or net banking gateways.

SMS alert

Once the bidder presses the ‘submit’ button, the options can’t e changed.

On completion of the bidding time, the process of finalisation of bids would begin.

To make it easy for the appolicants to know the status of their bids for teh fancy registration mumbers, the officials said that the successful bidders would get SMS alerts on their registered cellphone numbers.
